July 30, 2024 Dover, UK Aboard Crystal Symphony
I woke just after sunrise, laced up and headed out to check out the cliffs and greet Symphony as she entered the harbor.
I was beyond happy to follow her progress as she docked…so freaking beautiful 🩵
I took many photos…here’s my favorite
Such amazing luck with the weather.
These are the restrooms.
We saw a couple of kayakers enjoying the very calm, not sporty waters #jealous
Another view of the clock tower
So several benches along the waterfront are fitted with receptacles that hold live flowers…upon further inspection, I discovered that they are memorial benches dedicated to deceased loved ones. Quite touching.
I’m not sure why I was surprised at the turquoise color of the Strait of Dover…
This sticker was on the window of our hotel room…no way I’m opening the window…
Selfie at the cruise terminal 😊
First photo from our stateroom…which was ready at 12:30 when I popped up to check
No photos taken at lunch because we were so engaged with “old home week” activities like hugging and catching up with crew. My heart was bursting. I cannot explain the joy I feel when I see the look of recognition on a crew member’s face…and then the smile…
it. is. everything…
We enjoyed Sailaway from our room and loved the send off that we received from the folks at the port. 😊
…and here we go again with the evening mirror selfies. It might look easy…
…trust me, it’s a challenge
Umi for the win 🩵
Nobu special
Beef and salmon sashimi
…eels, crabs, octopus…all the tasty things…
The shrimp and vegetable tempura were gone before you could snap a finger or a pic
My lobster
Churashi for Timmy
Maybe some day I’ll choose something other than a Whiskey Cappuccino for dessert
Sugar free citrus custard
The welcome variety show “Crystal in Motion” was tons of fun. Here’s Alexandre Pivato on guitar
Gemma and Carl…the lead vocalists
This young woman, right here..Anna Alonso…what a talent! Amazing voice, and tremendous presence…we’ve watched her evolve as an entertainer and are so delighted that she has such a prominent role on Symphony.
The Avenue Saloon was standing room only for Neil Fullerton…we love him
Timmy had to drag me away …
So much fun packed into one day. Beyond happy to be back home. Thanks for following along 🩵🩵🩵
