We woke to blue skies, turquoise water and blazing heat…like really hot humid heat.
Although we have a port side cabin, our view in Sihanoukville was not of the dock.
Breakfast in Trident Grill.
I walked out on to the pool deck to get the 360(ish) view…and felt like I was melting.
Today I’m glad we have the sea side view.
We deliberately had no tours scheduled for today…we pretty much knew we’d need to recover from our overnight to Bangkok.
What we hadn’t counted on was a complete ship wide internet blackout. Seems there’s no Starlink in Cambodia. I had planned to take the day and catch up on this blog.
Oh well.
We visited Daniele Puma at the Future Cruises desk and booked a Carribean cruise on Serenity for this November…FLL to FLL …November 28 to December 22. We’ll be cutting it close with Christmas…but we’ll figure it out.
Afterwards we popped into the Bistro for iced coffees and whipped cream with strawberries.
I should clarify my previous sentence…I had whipped cream and strawberries…Timmy had iced coffee. Then we stopped by the Library, chatted with Lisa and grabbed some hard copy puzzles.
Back in our stateroom, we watched the end of a dumb movie, Timmy napped and I spent time on the puzzles and tried to get into a new book.
It’s been more than half a minute since I worked a logic puzzle or did a crossword on paper. Tech is great (when it’s available), but old school rules.
Around 4:30 pm, I headed back to the Bistro by myself. I know what you are thinking..but I will remind you…this is a no judgment zone blog.
This was the first day in a very long time that I can remember not having access to the internet. It really wasn’t terrible…
After sunset we stopped in to the Cove…
Mojito and Margarita …then up to Umi Uma.
We began with Nobu’s special
Edwin poured the Matsuhisa Chardonnay…one of verrrrry few Chardonnay’s that I like.

Okay, so here’s Timmy showing off his new chopsticks…that is a teeny tiny piece of caviar. What can I say? He’s an expert.

So we made a mistake when we told Charlene that we’d share everything…she brought vegetable tempura for two…I only cared to eat the sweet potato.

10 points if you know what I had for dessert…(Bob and Jeannie are not eligible to guess…they won last time).
After dinner we were highly entertained by Aaron Kavanaugh…
He ended the show with a Rocky Horror tribute medley …fantastic.
Vicki Van Tassel is our Cruise Director…a true treasure…she caps off every show with a 6-8 minute comedy bit. We love her
So a quiet day…(we need one every once in a while)…with a terrific ending.
