We were scheduled to dock in San Francisco at 8:00 am and Captain Vincent estimated that we’d be passing under the Golden Gate bridge at 7:00 am. We set our alarms for 6:50 and immediately upon opening the curtain we spied the bridge, backlit by the sunrise. We scrambled to the veranda for some photos.
Approaching the bridge. Can you believe it? No fog. 😁
On the other side.
I ran down the hallway and out onto the aft deck for a few more pics.
I didn’t stay long, as I was freezing in my bare feet and robe.
Back in our stateroom, I snapped this pic.
Here’s Alcatraz.
Although I rarely want to be up before say 8:30 am, I’m so glad we were able to experience sailing under the Golden Gate and cruising past Alcatraz.
Here’s my view from the treadmill …got about 8000 steps in.
Edwin stopped for a cameo with Tim.
We had a brief chat with Raymond at late risers breakfast.
After our second breakfast…we popped down to visit with Adrian and Marli in the Bistro.
Marli is just the brightest light in any room 🩵🩵🩵
We left the ship shortly after noon on a mission to buy me an inexpensive battery operated toothbrush, as I left my electric toothbrush base at Torrey Pines. Tim called the Lodge, they are mailing it home, but meantime my brush without the charging base is useless ☹️ Anyway we set out to blue skies…no fog…yay!
As always we are suckers for street performers. Did I mention it was windy? But no fog.
Lot’s of thorns on this very pretty bush.
We found a CVS opposite Pier 39…purchased the toothbrush and some postcards for the LoveBugs…then took a walk over to see the seals.
If you know, you know♥️
As we approached the dock, I muscled my way next to the railing.
Sea gulls and seals living in harmony…
As we strolled along we came upon Frisco Fred about to begin his close up magic show. We sat down and spent an enjoyable half hour in the warming sun.
If you contribute to the tip jar, you are rewarded with a postcard 😍
We continued our stroll and I snapped 982 photos…here’s a few.
Okay, here’s a good one…Tim offers to take this couple’s photo…and the guy proceeds to direct Timmy: “First vertical, now landscape…step back, up close…another please”. Hysterical.
I snapped Tim as he snapped away. Because what else was I going to do while I stood there for 25 minutes?
Whatever.
We returned to the ship and Timmy had pizza and I had salmon at Tastes.
After the previous days mirror selfie debacle, I didn’t press my luck…just one quick snap as we headed off to sail away 😊
Tim and Adam…aka DJ Flair…such a lovely young man … we had a quick drink then headed up to the Palm Court for sailaway and sunset.
It was beyond windy and cold out on deck … like really cold and r e a l l y windy. But no fog.
I tried my best, but could only manage a few pics. So freaking windy.
Rafael is a favorite head waiter.
And that’s Gustav photobombing
We made it an unofficial Italian night.
Tim’s Cioppino was delicious. Fun fact: Cioppino originated in San Francisco.
We topped off a terrific day in the Stardust club. I’m so happy to report that it was packed for Rock n’ Pop a Mania. The show was wonderful and we fell asleep grateful to be back on board this beautiful ship. Thanks for following along 🩵
