At 9:00 am we set out with Luis, our guide, for the Alentejo region. This area, encompasses the south central part of Portugal. We drove through soft rolling hills and plains. The stunning landscape is dotted with cork and olive trees and grapevines. We began our excursion at an enormous cork factory,...

We love restaurant recommendations from locals, so when our new friend Daniel recommended Sacramento Restaurant and Paulo our concierge, seconded the recommendation, we arrived at Sacramento with high expectations. We were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly and ushered upstairs to a lovely intimate dining room overlooking the busy main dining...

Our first time on TAP Portugal was uneventful. We left at 11:10 pm and arrived early,10:30 am local time. The flight lasted about 7 hours. The Airbus A330-900 is beautiful, it went on line last December so it still has that new plane smell. 🙂 We were greeted with a glass of sparkling...

We’re flying on TAP Portugal out of Terminal 5 at JFK. The only lounge closed in August 2018. No worries…we had a lovely meal at Aero Nova. Timmy went old school with a classic spaghetti and meatballs. I enjoyed a beet and faro salad, and the mussels were outstanding.

This trip begins with 5 days in Lisbon at the Intercontinental Hotel. I’m excited as this is our first visit to Portugal. Packing for 60-70 degree weather was relatively easy....
