Among the many joys of traveling with Timmy are long relaxed breakfasts. These breakfasts here at the Ritz Carlton have been an absolute joy. Watching the ducks and fellow guests, chatting with our servers and enjoying cappuccino and fresh berries are the perfect way to start our day. I’m grateful that I no longer feel the need to rise at the break of dawn, get my exercise in, hurry through breakfast to meet a guide at 9:30 a.m. Now, if we decide to hire a guide – 11:00 a.m. is the earliest I am willing to meet up.
Beyond adorable and beyond entertainingSo yes, after the anniversary dinner…we chose a light(ish) breakfast
We asked our Uber driver to take us to Old Montreal. I remember it so fondly and was quite surprised at the changes since our last visit in 2009. This alleyway had been chock full of artists and artisans selling their work. Evidently the pandemic’s toll has been especially harsh on Montreal’s artists. We enjoyed several hours exploring Old Montreal and the nearby Old Port. On several occasions, I parked Timmy and went off on my own.
So in the photo above I was waiting for Tim to take my pic…classic RBF…and here you have the Ready for the blog face😊
Timmy showing the watch clerk his old school watch and explaining its origins Such a perfick surpriseYou know I love interesting doorwaysJust a bit of whimsy I said ”Hey, Timmy those steps compliment your shirt, why don’t you go on over there and I’ll snap a pic”
As I was taking Tim’s photo, a sweet couple stopped and offered to take one of the both of us. We have met so many super folks on this trip. Lots of international folks in the hotel and local Quebecois.

Thus began a wonderful conversation…Lucien had been one of the artists in the alley…in fact he’s been here in Old Montreal for more than forty yearsLucien told us about his farm on a lake and ice fishing in the winterClassic French architectureAfter I parked Tim, I turned around to take his photo…he already had a new friendI returned about 15 minutes later… best buddies…Bill is a bus driver from Ontario here with a school group…he just bought an RV with intentions of spending his winters in Florida…of course we hope he visits usTimmy was only parked here for a few minutes Close up of the ferris wheelWe strolled along the river on our way to a late lunchBasilica of Notre Dame Such yummy drinks at Monarque RestaurantThis is lobster farroto…similar to risotto, but with farro…amazing…So this is my Rose’ … Tim enjoyed a glass of Orange wine…a firstBack at the hotel … Tim had his choice of red or white…Faculty housing…nice gig♥️
