We slept in and had a leisurely breakfast in the Club Lounge. We enjoy club floor lounges for the opportunity to meet and interact with other travelers.  The young staff are wonderful and beyond accommodating. Our meal was delicious.

We called an Uber; the driver was  1 minute away and he whisked us to Belém, home of some excellent museums. The Coach Museum is super cool, inexpensive and not time intensive.

First car to circulate in Portugal in 1895.

A short walk and we arrived at the Archeological Museum. What a gem. The gold jewelry was spectacular as was the Religions of Lusitania  exhibit. Unfortunately photos were not permitted in these two areas 😞.  I made up for that deprivation in the Egypt section 😊.

Our final foray found us at the Maritime Museum, of particular interest to my Navy guy.

The map of Cantino, earliest surviving map showing Portuguese discoveries. Smuggled into Italy in 1502.

We loved our visit to Belem. The Main Street is sweet, just off the riverfront and adjacent to several blocks of green-space that includes the Imperial Garden. The garden seems like a beautiful spot to enjoy a picnic lunch.

We Ubered back to the Intercontinental, I enjoyed a lovely Portuguese Sauvignon Blanc, Timmy had a Port Tonic (his new favorite) and some Portuguese tarts in the lounge- where we penned postcards to our #lovebugs. Timmy’s napping before dinner, I’m updating the blog and life is wonderful.
