…there’s something wrong. Very, very wrong. Activities available include: Fitness classes, including Spin, Yoga, and Pilates (no reformer machines) & Golf instruction and Paddle Tennis. Numerous lectures and classes. As I mentioned in a previous post, we do not usually avail ourselves of the lecture opportunities. On previous long sailings (LA to Sydney and several transatlantic crossings we have really enjoyed the Duplicate Bridge lessons. And we love magic, so we always attend the magic shows. These shows are offered by Vegas quality magicians. Complimentary tickets are available in the ship’s Library for limited seating shows. Performances are held in the Avenue Salon and are about thirty minutes in length. The setting is intimate and – pre pandemic, guests were afforded a wonderful bird’s eye view of the slight of hand. Even with covid protocols in place, we were able to closely observe and thoroughly enjoy, my new favorite magician, Steve Ehlers. Steve is charming, funny and an absolute genius with cards. If you ever have the opportunity to catch his act, whether on a Crystal ship, the Canyon Ranch or if you are fortunate enough to live near him in Arizona…you are in for an amazingly entertaining demonstration of card wizardry. As you might have noted and as certainly evidenced by the photo above, my iPhone photo skills are sometimes lacking. My photo editing skills are similarly nonexistent, so when I saw that the “Creative Media Fundamentals” folks were offering a class about the iPhone camera App, I asked Timmy if he’d like to go. Dave Williams is a wonderful instructor. He’s clear, concise and has a very nice delivery. His classroom management skills are also to be admired – he didn’t allow folks to sidetrack or bog him down- he deftly moved the class along – sticking to his outline and offering to assist folks after class. We learned so much on Monday, that we went back today for a lesson on the Snapseed photo editing App. It was just as super as the first lesson. As you all know, we are miserable at taking selfie’s and we’ve been trying to up our selfie game. Dave gave us some great tips…now we just have to implement them. Every once in a while we take an amazing selfie – well we did take one good selfie on a boat ride around Capri in 2019 – (I loved it so much I used it as my Facebook profile photo for two years. I finally changed that pic out because with my long gray pandemic hair, I no longer resemble my former short blond hair self and I never want to be that person who’s profile pic is from twenty years and twenty pounds ago). Whatever.
