I opened the drapes to a photo shoot on the steps of the Art Gallery.

♥️

The only negative about this room..the teeny tiny closet…

.

A few more room pics…

I appreciated the selection of tea and the proper tea kettle.

Continuing our routine…we enjoyed a late breakfast in the Hotel’s beautiful dining room…

After breakfast I checked out the Spa and pool. Sadly there were no appointments available during our stay…

…So I set out on a walk around the city…

…and landed at the beach…

I was surprised to see folks setting up for an event…then I remembered that our guide Martin told us there’d be a large fireworks celebration at the end of the month.

Freighters lined up to off load their cargo

I walked along the waterfront, reveling in the sun and low 70s temperature.

That’s the bridge to Granville Island in the background

Multiple points of entry

That’s a lifeguard stand on the right

A better view of the bridge

I returned to our hotel through the West End neighborhood. It is vibrant and lovely, and only a 15 minute walk to the beach.

A great mix of high rise condos/apartments and single family homes.

♥️

I really enjoy this city…it has great energy but also a chill vibe…and many wonderful restaurants to choose from…

…Blue Water Cafe for the win…

Blue Water is renowned for its’ Sushi and fresh sea food, so it was an obvious choice for us

Cool decor and a very lively crowd for a Monday evening…

Timmy had something with mezcal and I had a Moscow Mule

Tim’s Carrot Soup with tamarind crumble, duck prosciutto, Almonds and crème fraiche

My Watermelon Mandarin Gazpacho with Prosciutto di Parma, macerated cucumber and tequila crema was beyond amazing…all the flavors

Beef Sashimi tenderloin, garlic chips, chopped green onions, yu’kke sauce

Fresh crab, cucumber, barbecued eel, smoked salmon and a sweet soy glaze

We were delighted to see Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc on the wine list. We visited the Nautilus winery in New Zealand in 2018 and always choose it when we see it on a wine list.

♥️
.

I ordered Char with braised leeks, wakame seaweed, Dungeness crab and pearl couscous

Tim choose Sablefish with bok choy, edamame, quinoa, and mushrooms …and Truffle fries

This Greek Yogurt Mascarpone Cheesecake was a perfick ending to our outstanding meal.

.

That was some meal, a great way to return to Vancouver.
