Thursday, June 27, 2024 Sea Day on Serenity
Second breakfast in the Bistro, including a double espresso and cappuccino. Here’s Timmy texting with Terri our cat sitter…evidently Freddie loves her more than us now.
I left Timmy to his own devices and spent some time in the gym.
Then we headed to Marketplace for lunch. So many yummy choices😊 I had a small piece of lasagna and some salad.
Timmy made some eclectic choices.
Lemon drop martinis are fast replacing lush champagne cocktails as my go to Crystal lunch drink.
After lunch we attended a Crystal Visions Enrichment lecture presented by Todd McLeish: “Marine Mammals of the North Pacific.” What a great presentation…lasted about 35 minutes and so interesting.
As we were exiting the Galaxy Lounge I snapped this advertisement for comedian John Joseph.
We haven’t attended Tea Time in the Palm Court in a very long time, but decided to indulge in the once a cruise “Chocolate Tea”. We loved it♥️ I did a pitiful job of photographing the wonderful offerings…I totally missed the scones and cream 😢…such a nice display. I had one, it was yummy.
You can barely see the top of my scone…Tim enjoyed lots of different chocolates.
Of course we had chocolate martinis.
One take only for this selfie.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner with Hotel Director Hubert Buelacher in Waterside. Our table mates were delightful, charming and very well traveled. We truly enjoyed every minute.
My choice: lemon sole and Tim opted for the steak.
Hard to imagine, but we ordered sorbet 🩵
I absolutely love Hubert, he is the best host; warm and funny and tells highly entertaining stories about the early days of Crystal.
Here he is signing Timmy’s place card…(at Tim’s request as a souvenir of the wonderful evening.)
Upon leaving Waterside, it was noted that Paolo and Timmy shared a similar look. #twins
And now, for the best part of the best day ever…John Joseph. We laughed so hard that our faces hurt. There were moments when I couldn’t catch my breath. I thought I would choke when he discovered the dog in the audience…sort of my reaction when I first spied the dog on embarkation day. …anyway, here’s a brief video.
It’s hard to imagine so much happiness crammed into one day…but we did 🩵 I am well aware that I’m two days behind here on the blog. I fear it’s only going to get worse. In trying to post in a timely fashion, I’m having to leave some things out…by things I mean photos…hundreds of photos and some very special moments with the crew. Anyway…My hope and expectation is to catch up after the cruise when we are relaxing at Sonora Resort, off the coast of Vancouver in the Discovery archipelago. Google it, it looks amazing. Thanks for following along.
