We survived another round of Bangkok traffic and landed at the Mandarin Oriental. What a beautiful hotel.
We were greeted so warmly, I thought the bellmen were mistaking us for visiting royalty. I’m not exaggerating.
Pok stayed with us through check in. After check in the receptionist walked us to our room…
…and oh what a room
So much space ♥️
The best part of the room…the balcony with views of both the city and Chao Phraya river
#sofreakinglucky
As we were settling in, the bell rang and our valet brought us cool towels and a welcome drink. Yes, that’s right …”our valet” …so fancy…but also such a very nice man who stated that he was available to personally assist us in any way. His goal is to ensure that we have an outstanding stay.
I relaxed on the balcony…Timmy napped
So apparently if you saw the movie “The Hangover” the building on the left, with the dome was featured in a helicopter scene.
We had dinner reservations at one of the hotel’s restaurants…The Veranda.
Our riverside table was perfick…as was the service and food.
That’s one of many dinner cruises that floated by.
Prawn crackers with a spicy sweet condiment were brought to the table along with bread.
Mojito and Mai Tai
It was a beyond wonderful and romantic way to spend the evening.
Phad See Iew River Prawns and wide noodles. Delicious.
We enjoyed the ambiance, gracious service and view…then it was off to our room.
It was late and the lobby was empty, so I took the opportunity to snap a few photos.
That’s a string quartet in the way left background. (I told you it was fancy).
I ended the day with a bath of lemongrass sea salts and Jasmin bubbles. Just like the royalty they’ve mistaken me for.
We had an amazing jam packed day, with our wonderful guide Pok…and to end it here in this beautiful hotel is a gift. Thanks for following along ♥️
