February 1,2025

We woke to a very foggy sea day.

.

Breakfast in our room…then we got to work…

…we spent the morning writing our thank you notes to this wonderful crew

Lunch in Marketplace

.

Oybek always makes us feel so welcome

We stopped by to say hello to Jsa and get some gelato…

…to sustain us as we wrote postcards to the Bugs

Before we knew it, we were back in the Cove with Pisco Sours

.

These oysters were beyond yummy

February 2,2025 Hong Kong

We awoke docked in Hong Kong and had to go through immigration in the terminal. No photos allowed. After immigration we waited in the terminal until the ship reached a zero count. About 20 minutes.

.

Back aboard, Timmy decided not to join me as I walked off the ship and explored the immediate area around the port.

Just like Singapore, the cruise terminal is attached to a shopping mall. This mall is enormous …multiple floors and everything you can imagine for sale. It took me a good 15 minutes to traverse the entire mall and reach the harbor.

Lots of folks out and about. I think most of them were tourists, as they were all (to a person) jockeying for position to take the perfick photo.

Weather was cool and damp.

.

I walked for about 90 minutes, enjoying the bustling energy.

.
.

I would have loved to have gone into the Hong Kong Modern Art museum …but I left the ship without a penny to my name. Who does that?

There was actually a sign stating that the city was working to create green space. And another sign warning you not to linger on the grass. Okay then.

.

I popped into the Peninsula to check it out …

.

Lovely public spaces

.

Back out on the street.

.
.

Look who I found on our balcony as I approached the ship.

.

Timmy met me at Beef Bar for lunch…

Those quesadillas though

So yummy 🩵 …then we spent an hour or so packing 😢

After sunset (such as it was) we headed up to the pool deck for a bit. The night was beautiful… actually warmer than we expected.

.
.

Of course we took a selfie

Drinks in the Cove…then dinner in Waterside

Our last dinner was bittersweet …we will miss Ramazan and the entire team in Waterside.

The final production in the Galaxy theater featured local talent: The Hong Kong Heritage Drummers and Lion Dance Troupe. Highly enjoyable.

We headed off to sleep…setting our alarms for 4:15 am as we needed to be off the ship at 5:00 am. Yep. 5:00 am…in order to catch a flight to Siem Reap. Angkor Wat has been calling to me for many years and it’s about to become a reality.

This has been among our favorite Crystal cruises…every day a joy. This crew is beyond exceptional. We love them all so much. As sad as we are to leave, we are happy to know we’ll be back onboard in September. Thanks for following along🩵
