So yes, we are venturing back to Europe. We left home at 4:30 pm and arrived at JFK just before 6:00. …. I know right? We made crazy good time, in-spite of encountering the remnants of an accident on the Southern State Parkway. Checked in and through security in about thirty minutes. We really, really love TSA Pre-check. I especially appreciate not having to take my shoes off. We are flying TAP Air to Lisbon out of Terminal 1. TAP is part of the Star Alliance so we are enjoying the Lufthansa lounge…and the best mustard I’ve ever tasted. The warm pretzels are yummy too. This is a small lounge, so the offerings are not vast…however the quality is high. I enjoyed two of those yummy pretzels and some cheese and Tim had Jasmine rice with a really delicious pork entree. No bar, but a nice set up of ”pour your own” alcohol and wines.
We are grateful to be traveling again, not discounting the risks … but it is time…actually beyond time. We fell in love with Lisbon in 2019 and had plans to return in 2020. So here we are two years later.
We are each checking one suitcase. Unlike our summer get away to Montreal, when we shared one suitcase, it will be cooler, so we (I) need more shoe choices and some sweaters.
No pics of Timmy’s food…it was gone in a flash. We board in about an hour, so we are going to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine and hopefully I’ll update the blog at some point tomorrow.
