Our driver fetched us at 5:30 pm and we made remarkably good time during rush hour to JFK. Check in at Singapore Air was a breeze…it took us longer to walk from the counter to Clear/TSA Pre-Check Security line. And that was also easy peasy…having both Clear and Pre-check is worth every penny. JFK was teeming with travelers.
Singapore Air does not have a lounge at JFK, but offers access to the India Air lounge. The lounge was surprisingly basic, but did have a decent California Sauvignon Blanc and some very sweet oranges.

For our pre-flight drink, I stuck with the Sauvignon Blanc…this one is a New Zealand… Craggy Range – really nice.

Lots of in flight media choices including news and football. As you may remember, I’m only watching local news now, so I began watching The Penguin…wow. Great acting, but disturbing. Like really disturbing. Timmy watched LA beat the Vikings.
This is the inside cover of the menu. Singapore Air claims World Class status, and in my opinion, they are. Our flight attendants were delightful and professional and the food was yummy. We enjoyed several meals during the 18 hour flight.

Veal chop, mushrooms and potatoes. I failed to take a photo of my shrimp and scallop entree. It was delicious.

Here’s one of the deserts…I can’t believe that I failed to take a pic of the most delicious salted caramel pie. Trust me, it was yummy.
Eighteen hours and eleven minutes. I have to say, this was one of the most enjoyable flights we’ve had. We landed on time at 6:50 am on January 15. Upon leaving the plane we were met by Fais, a representative from JetQuay.
JetQuay offers a meet and greet service. Fais drove us in his electric “buggy” to the CIP terminal where we cleared immigration and customs at a dedicated counter.
I couldn’t take photos at immigration but the process was seamless.
After immigration we were brought to the JetQuay lounge while a different JetQuay rep fetched our luggage from baggage claim.
At 6:10 am we were the only travelers in the beautiful lounge.
We were offered breakfast, but decided to have cappuccinos.
We barely finished the coffee and our bags appeared. We were introduced to our guide Jamie and driver Cole. Half an hour later found us at Capella Hotel on Sentosa Island.
Ning checked us in at 6:53 am…it was still dark outside, but Ralph at Tully Travel had arranged for us to have early access to our room ♥️.
The lobby is cozy and charming.
Ning brought us cool towels and refreshing ginger/lemon soft drinks.
After checkin, we were driven in a golf cart to our Garden Villa. Oh my goodness, it is wonderful. These photos do not come close to capturing the wow of this space.

Around the corner is an outdoor shower and deep bathtub…I’ll try to remember to take a photo tomorrow. To say we are delighted with these accommodations is an understatement.
After unpacking, I set off to explore the resort. It was barely light out at 7:45 am – overcast and humid…but such a welcome change from New York’s miserable cold.

The resort is built into a mountain and is truly lush and jungle like…and just 10 minutes from downtown Singapore.

The beach is visible from our patio..down a short pathway with more than a few steps.

The beach was empty except for this interesting piece of art.
I walked for about 1/2 an hour, enjoying the peace and quiet.
I have no clue what this is…appears to be an altar…in the middle of nowhere, at the end of the beach.
This was the only other person walking…her dog was adorable.

After my walk, I rested and when Tim woke from his nap, we headed to lunch.

A Compare Spritz for Timmy and my cocktail includes Prosecco and some Italian liquor who’s name escapes me.

We never made it to the spa or gym, deciding to return to our room to rest some more.
About 2 minutes after I took this pic, Tim headed in for another nap. I decided to post to the blog, but now I’m really feeling the jet lag, so I’m going to sign off and join him. Thanks for following along. ♥️
