We are off to the Cotswolds for a few days, then we board Symphony for a spin around Scandinavia and the Baltics…then a few days in Iceland.

This is our first time flying Virgin Atlantic and our initial review is mixed. Hear me out…we booked last December when AMEX was offering a 1.3 redemption on Virgin. That means transfer points at 1.3 times the points transferred…yay! We booked a 9:40 pm flight out of JFK to London. Last night when we attempted to checkin, we discovered our departure was moved to 11:59 pm…what the actual heck? We had the cat sitter coming at 4:30 and the car service at 5:30. Whatever… we went through our emails, including spam and neither of us were notified of the change. We went on the Blacklane website to change our pickup time at Heathrow and guess what? Blacklane had the updated arrival time. Whatever…Lesson learned…when you book months in advance…periodically check your flight status. Anyway, we are here at JFK…really early. Checkin and security were a breeze. So glad we have Clear and TSA Precheck.
