Victoria, British Columbia June 30, 2024 Crystal Serenity

We sailed into port shortly before 9:00 am. There were a few hardy folks out on the breakwater.

I was in bed, enjoying my coffee, looked up and saw this guy on the railing. I stealthily snapped his photo, good thing I was so stealthy, because as I moved to take a better pic, he flew away.

.

Because it was Sunday, Timmy had eggs and I had berries for breakfast.

I walked the treadmill for an hour before we set off on the Crystal provided shuttle.

Timmy’s so happy that the Crystal – crystal mints are back.

I’m including these pics to try to give a sense of how long the breakwater is.

I think that’s Queen Elizabeth in the distance.

.

The shuttle dropped us in front of the Fairmont Empress hotel. We both have vague memories of being here in 2012…on a different cruise line, on our first cruise to Alaska. I think we had tea…I do remember getting lost in the hotel…in a good, not scary way.

The gardens at the hotel are lovely.

.

Had to snap a photo of these Orca 🩵

We walked around the Inner Harbour, enjoying the beautiful weather.

That’s the government house in the background.

The sun was in and out, but the temperature was a very comfortable mid 60s.

Please note the lack of crowds on this lovely Canada Day eve…because I’m going to be very smug about this in tomorrow’s post.

After a bit we headed over to the Royal British Columbia Museum …this guy greeted us at the entrance. I’m sorry that I failed to note his name or any other pertinent data about him. I was just so in love with his tallness.

Here’s some serendipity…we planned the whole beginning of our end of summer travels around the Cotswolds and Stonehenge …and when we arrive at the museum we find that Stonehenge is the featured exhibit. So freaking lucky 😊

Anyway, we spent a fun afternoon brushing up on our Stonehenge knowledge.

I have no clue where I was going with this photo.

There are lots of interactive features and various “stations” with this guy giving short explanations about all things Stonehenge. We l o v e d it.

.

After Stonehenge, we explored the Natural History wing…then caught the shuttle back home to Serenity. I was pretty tired. (Being old is not for sissies).

We arrived back on board, I snapped this pic of Queen Elizabeth, and we caught some lunch.

Next thing we knew, (after resting and reading in our room) it was time for dinner. I was too tired to change, so we dined in Tastes. Such a treat.

Timmy ordered the drink of the day: a Moscow Mule…no copper mug…but delicious none the less. 😊

Every taste was wonderful.

Greek Octopus Salad

Hamachi Crudo.

Butternut Squash Salad

Tikka Massala Flatbread

Laphroaig Cured Salmon

Bananas Foster…Timmy absolutely loved it♥️

The ever charming Felipe was our waiter.
The entire day, minute by minute, right into evening was wonderful…as is every day on this ship. I’m grateful for this man and the life we share. Thanks for following along 🩵
