Port Angeles, Washington June 29, 2024

From our veranda upon awakening.

Our whale watching tour was scheduled to leave from the Stardust Club at 9:00 am, so no second breakfast.

After a 10 minute bus ride, nineteen of us boarded our boat – the Glacier Spirit. Captain EJ went through the safety drill with humor. Seating inside the cabin was a bit tight …some folks went out on deck, but most returned to the warmth inside. It was very windy and pretty cold. I made my way to the pilot house and hopped up onto a roomy bench. Timmy joined me and we had the best seats on the boat.

Here we are leaving the port to hunt for whales.

Our Captain, EJ.

Some hardy folks out on deck. Once the whales were spotted, everyone piled outside.

I’m taking credit for this selfie. We had great luck on our hunt for whales…EJ spotted two humpback whales, and then we came upon 2 separate pods of Orca. Here’s a short video of the second humpback.

.

We had tons of fun and were thrilled to see so many whales. Plus I loved being on that boat.

Back on board Serenity, we ate at Tastes and wrote some postcards to the LoveBugs 🩷

♥️ Hunch worthy.
♥️

After lunch we dropped in to the Bistro, and Adrian delighted us with some cappuccinos.

Back in our room, we watched Richard Turnbull’s excellent lecture on Victoria and Vancouver. I love that the lectures are live streamed and also available throughout the cruise 🩵

White night selfie🩵

Delicious cod appetizer for me.

Quail for Timmy…such a teeny tiny bird. Seems almost criminal to eat it.

Another Tuscan blend♥️ We enjoyed Bill’s company so much that I failed to take photos of our main courses. Oh well.

Photo credit to Bill …can you believe we actually survived red wines on a white night party, with no mishaps?

Tim snapped this one.

John Arias suggested this lovely dessert wine.

And this was butterscotch frozen yogurt.

Timmy and Bill went with the Sacher Torte.

How it started…

DJ Flair…this young man is so charming and so much fun.

The White parties just keep getting better and better.

We had a terrific day, whales had top billing, but the party was super too. I’m now hopelessly behind with the blog, but it is what it is …and If you stick with me, I’ll eventually catch up. Thanks for following along.🩵
