I spent the remainder of Sunday afternoon at the spa. I enjoyed the sauna, steam room and aroma therapy room, and I especially enjoyed the Torrey Pines signature massage. Such a lovely experience.

When we sailed on Endeavor’s inaugural in July of 2021, we had a terrific time and met the most wonderful folks. Sometimes you just “click” with another couple and on that cruise we clicked with Joanne and Scott. We’ve been trying to find another cruise to share with them…haven’t been able to sync our schedules, but when Joanne realized we’d be sailing out of San Diego, she and Scott arranged to make the drive down from their home in San Clemente. We enjoyed a most wonderful reunion and dinner at Marisi in La Jolla.

♥️♥️♥️

Scott and I started with the grilled beets with smoked goat cheese, pistachio and raspberries.

Timmy’s chicken liver mousse

Timmy and Scott ordered Linguine alla Genovese: featuring braised duck

Here’s my Cavatelli short rib ragu. Joanne had a Ceasar salad and a pasture raised chicken with wild mushrooms.

Here’s our fantastic server Kristina.

Such a delightful person.

We enjoyed some fantastic wines. Scott’s holding my Chianti. We had so much fun discussing wine with these two. Scott’s knowledge base rivals most sommeliers. True fact.

I love this photo of us.

And love this pic even more♥️

You know it’s a good night when your face hurts from laughing.

La Jolla is a charming place and was quite lively on a Sunday evening. We are grateful for these two and their friendship. And really grateful to Crystal for providing the opportunity for the friendship to spark. We are advocating that they join us summer 2025 on Symphony. They are going to try to squeeze us in between their Africa and South Pacific trips. Fingers crossed.

On our last morning we dined in A.R. Valentien, the Lodge’s signature restaurant overlooking the pool and golf course.

This little bee was hovering like a hummingbird.

Although the breakfast menus is extensive, I kept it simple.

Timmy was delighted to discover chia pudding on the menu.

I snapped one last pic from our room just before we left for our cruise. We board Serenity for a back to back…San Diego to Vancouver (up the coast, stopping in San Francisco, Astoria, Oregon, Port Angeles, Washington overnight, and Victoria overnight). Then we continue on board for seven night spin around Alaska. We are looking forward to reuniting with our beloved Crystal crew and having a fun time. Thanks for following along 🩵🩵🩵
