We met our driver in the lobby at 6 a.m. for transfer to the airport. The flight to Cusco lasted 1.5 hours and was uneventful. We were met by Eduardo, the operations manager for Journeys in Peru. We enjoyed a scenic drive through a stunning landscape to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way to our hotel, we stopped at the Awanakancha Center, featuring colorful textiles and llamas.
The Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado, is a stunning property. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch on the patio and explored the grounds.
